I have a very large amount to learn with regards to sharpening but I am pleased with my attempt here. The droplet of water was about 1 - 2mm in diameter.

Hehe, I have to admit, it took me AGES to get this shot . I took some using a much higher F-Stop for all round sharpness but then decided I wanted a really shallow DoF for a more abstract romantic shot (if I may be so bold as to call it that ) so trying to keep the AF points on the droplet whilst focussed at 1:1 (because it was so small) was a royal pain.. heh.
I ended up just taking what I could when I got it in focus as I wanted
I thought of a crop but felt it did more of an injustice to the image.
