Excellent sharpness. The ones with the butterflies looking straight into the lens are the best. I know how much they are moving around, so those are very impressive.

how close are you to these butterflies? I know when I'm using the 50mm f/1.8 I need to be right on top of the subject to get it in focus. I haven't tried yet with the 85mm f/1.8 to see if the distance gets any better. What about if I used my 75-300mm VR with the tubes. Would that make any difference?

hi pete, these where taken 4-8 inch from lens, some 100mm only,some with various tubes added.
did not have any problem getting that close. i have tried ex tubes on a 70-300 but found getting close with 100mm better, its very jungly in conwy btfly house,300mm too long.
