Fireworks in Fishers Indiana

Nightingale and I spent the 4th of July, with our son and his family in Fishers, which has a fireworks display over a local lake. Here are a few frames I captured.

Typical fireworks protocol used - firm tripod, cable release, ISO 100, f 5.6 to f 11 depending on scene brightness, shutter speeds from 2 - 10 seconds depending on the rapidity of the mortar firing. 5D 24-105 IS L

One thing I did learn, shooting from a low bridge over the water, will cause image blur when cars roll across the bridge....

All in all a very pleasant day, and a lovely evening.

Wow, despite the shake of the bridge (which I think I would have overlooked completely) these are fantastic. Great compositions that really accentuate how lagre the explosions are! The small silhouettes fo the boats are just perfect little details. thumb.gif

I didn't see anything in the pics that suggested shake, everything looked very crisp... Did you have a lot more pics that you threw out because of shake?

Yes, I have some with obvious shake in the nav lights on the boats, but none of them edited or displayed here.

Interestingly, you can't really see that much movement in the fireworks themselves in those images, just the lights on the boats.

Wow! Seems like I need to travel a lil south of Fort Wayne next year to see the show.

Great photos considering you were on a shaky bridge!:D
