    Sweet!

    Except for the background, it's a great shot. But not a lot you can do about that given the field.

    You can always select the batter, and blur the background a bit, if you have the time. The selection can be done better on the full size image - this was the small file displayed here on dgrin.

    Did you use fill flash on this shot, the batter looks like he was lighted up.

    Nice shot, however.

    Looks good. Did you use gaussian(sp?) blur?

    Yes, after duplicating the batter on a layer. The layer blurred with GB, needs to be below the copy of the batter so that the margins are sharp, and not blurrred.

    I described the steps in Photoshop in this thread

    Once you have the subject isolated from the background on layers, it is easy to have different curves for each of them also.
