Does anyone use something like this?

Many times I've been out shooting and wearing nice enough clothes that I don't want to lay on the ground for a shot but I really need to in order to get the best shot. I've thought, man I need to cary a small tarp or something in my bag for instances such as these so I can actually lay on the ground and not get dirty. Is there such a thing specifically for photographers or what? What do you guys and gals use? Or am I the only one who thinks about that?

an unfolded contractors grade garbage bag from Home depot... lol works like a charm and is disposable when it gets older (1 or 2 shoots!) buy a box and keep it in your car.

You could go the Tyvek suit route. They run about $10 at a place like Home Depot/Lowe's and can be tossed or folded up and put back. A small tarp would be a better choice.

I also carry a folded up, smaller trash bag incase i get caught in a down pour, its big enough to fit my camera in and keep it dry!

you mean a mirror? deal.gif Lay it on the ground and shoot at an angle?

I always head out ready to roll around. I like these ideas though - I've probably got trashbags in the car already and did not think of that.

I'd agree with the tarp or trash bag idea. I used to do fiberglass work and we'd have to wear those Tyvek Umpaloompa suits. Your clothes will stay clean, but if it's above 65 degrees, you will sweat to death.

On the other hand, a Tyvek suit, a gas mask, and some heavy rubber gloves could get you the whole area to yourself.

    "why are you wearing that?"

"I'm with the EPA, sir. I'm here to photograph the toxic waste spill."
