Iowa shooting

Is there anyone that shoots in Iowa, if so where are some of your favorite places to shoot? I love chasing trains so that is mostly what I've been doing but would love to hear where you shoot. Also if anyone would be interested in a day trip to do some shooting I would love to get something together.

Where in Iowa are you going? I'm stationed in Des Moines but I'm from the NW part of the state. Guess I'll need to know where you are going to give you any tips.:D

I'm from the Indianola area. I work south in Chariton, but I love day trips.

I'd grab a model and head to Ledges Park in Ames. Beautiful, trees and rocks and lots of photo ops. Not all that familiar with south Iowa. We have a lot of really old graveyards and abandoned farmlands. Those always have a lot of character. Just pick a road and go, the roads in Iowa are a giant grid, getting lost never lasts very long.
