Purchasing a domain and starting to populate that domain is not enough to get noticed by the search engines.

Follow the advice on this page - http://wiki.smugmug.net/display/SmugMug/Maximize+Search+Engine+Findability. And then, wait a bit - because the search engines will then need time to "find" you.
