A few shots I took this week of some birds of prey. I am still learning so any advice or help would be most appreciated.

Bob

I apologise as I initially added the tags on them all but inadvertently hit the wrong button.

Suggestion to show pics in thread...
If you add the html image tag, the pics wil show up in your post. Put the tag in front of each pic line and the tag at the end of each picture line, like the first one below.

Although I prefer my birds of prey in the wild, these are great shots...love the eagles and the owls.

Some of your best yet. I really like the last two of the owl as they seem the most natural, especially that close-up. The Harris's Hawk is very nice too with good color and comp. Harris's Hawks actually make it to the US starting at the far southern tip of Texas and extending westward into Arizona. I saw some and even took pictures of a few in the Brownsville, Texas area on the border of Texas and Mexico in June.

The eagle is nice but seems slightly overexposed on my monitor. In the RAW file, if you shoot in RAW, try lowering the exposure -50, to see if that helps. I also like Gyr Falcon. That one is nicely exposed for all that white plumage.

Thanks Mike, William and Stephen, for all your kind remarks and I will certainly reduce the exposure as you quite rightly said Stephen, I always shoot in raw.
    Regards to you all

I really like the baby owl too! He's so fuzzy... and going to bite someone's face off. Aww, he's threatening. I really like the first two. He looks like he has face paint on and he's really intersted in something. Maybe your foot.rolleyes1.gif
Something about the pose and the colours. I like 'em.

    Hey Bob,

That Turkey Vulture is a Buzzard! wings.gif

I think "Buzzard" is a commonly abused term here in the States. (What do those people from Tennessee know anyway! :D)

Very nice set of images. thumb.gif
