Hy there!
Some time ago I asked a question as to which super telephoto lens I should get, the 80-400 Nikon or the "Bigma" (Sigma 50-500)
I finally decided in the favor of the "Bigma" It has more range at both ends and it does takes very sharp photos, as long you keep this heavy (about 5 pounds) lens braced. Not an easy task on a heavy lens. I use it with a monopod.
In bright light, sunshine, it does focus pretty fast.
The lens appears to be solid and well made. I do have a new problem, the thing is so heavy my cheap tripod can not hold it so it won't move. I guess I will have to convince the "boss" (wife) I need a new tripod.
Thanks

Congratulations on the new lens. I have one as well and it represents a decent bargain for the range it covers.
