With the canon 20D conected to the PC via USB2.0, is it possible to dump the image taken by the camera directly to the pc into an image editing program and stored on to the hard drive, not using a CF card.
I use Canon's DPP with a 1DsmkII via firewire, once it is wired in one of the menus in DPP with be "start EOS Capture", once you do that you can set a preference where to save the image, CF card or computer HD or both, usually I do both, instant backup, plus if your connection is interrupted the image should be on the CF card, with the 1DsmkII you can trigger it from the laptop, a cable release or shutter release. The laptop is slow to let you take the next shot, it wants to download it first, the cable release allows you to shoot as you do for your buffer, but takes a little longer at the end to finish transferring to the computer. Once it on my laptop I can edit in DPP, PS or any program I choose. I would assume the 20D works in a similar fashion.
