Ok, so my hubby has bought me an RC-5 remote shutter release from ebay (it's not here yet), and I was just wondering if anyone else here uses one and what they are like etc...I must admit I'm quite excited about it as now i can get it on the tripod and use some long exposure shots :D

What camera are you using it with? Will the remote support "bulb" exposure?

I'm using a wired remote that has several features including remote trigger
    and timed exposure intervals.

i had the rc-5 with my drebel. it works fine, and yes Ian, it does bulb - one press to open, another press to close. It has a 3 second delay no matter what, which can get old, but at least it's wireless. And also, it's pretty sensitive to where it is, as in, it really has to be aiming right at the little sensor on the front of the camera. Even a long lens will block it pretty well if you are to the wrong side of the camera. This makes it not so useful for spy photography as I found out. Bought it because I wanted to catch a hummingbird at my feeder, not thinking that I had to be in front of the camera as well.

But for $20, you can't beat it. Nice to have in the bag for sure thumb.gif
