I've managed to get a few humming bird shots lately. I thought I would see what you guys think. I never thought I would like bird photography but it's challenging and growing on me.

I like them both, but I keep going back to the second shot. Very nicely done. The first shot is interesing too with the little spider crawling up the flower.

    Cool shots!

    I like the first one...nice mood.thumb.gif

The second shot is nice but the background is too overpowering...that is too bright and distracting. You good try burning the highlights on everything but the bird and the flower.

Great images. I like them both, the first one because it is quite unique how you captured it standing on the petal and the second one is just so darn good. The DOF worked perfectly getting the flower in focus and the facial area of the hummer! thumb.gif

Thank you everyone for your comments. I agree that #2 is rather bright in the background. I played with it some but went back to the original shot. Maybe it is just my post processing skills but everything I tried, I like the original better.

I like them both. The first one is interesting because of the hummer standing on the flower, and the little spider too. I wonder if the spider was sizing up the hummer.

The second has beautiful colours and dof.

i like them both...number two is my favorite....downplaying the background might improve...but i also like the bright colors in it. so its a toss up on how you want to present it.
