Speeding up SmugMug

Has there ever been any discussion about Akamizing smugmug images? It could possibly be a fee based option, but I for one, would be willing to upgrade to get the speed boost. Depending on where I am in the country the current service goes between good and terrible. A distributed service like Akami could help to resolve the issue.
