Well, I pulled the trigger on a new Bigma OS. Got it today and the one thing I can say is that it's HUGE (which we all knew) and it's Heavy! I can use my 70-200 f/2.8 IS lens without issue, but this thing will get some getting use to. Also it dwarfs my camera - it's actually pretty silling looking on my T2i, but does okay with my 50d (both with grips). I'm thankful I have a good mono pod.

We're going to the Virginia Safari Park Satuday and I'm pretty sure I've conned my daughter into a trip to the zoo Thursday. I'll post some pics when I get them.

Can't wait to hear what you think of it!!

First off, let me say, It's just like it's little brother. Big, Heavy and needs lots of light!

I spent a great day shooting yesterday. Had some issues shooting from the train at the zoo, although, my monopod really helped. Interestingly, I had issues with getting a ton of dust on my len. (Yeah, I know, I ordered 4 lens pens this afternoon to have for next time.)

I did have some hunting issues, well, focus issues really. A fair amount of blurred images. Not sure if it was due to my unsteady hand (which was being pulled by my 14 year old daughter.) Or the lens. But I've definately got some keepers. In all, a nice lens, but clearly no competetion for my 70-200 f/2.8 unless I need the range.
    Canon 50D and 2x T2i's // 2x 580ex II // FlexTT5's & MiniTT1's
    EFS 17-55 f/2.8 & 10-22 // Sigma 30mm f/1.4 & 50mm f/1.4
Sigma Bigma OS // Canon 70-200 IS f/2.8

I really expect sigma 85/1.4 cause 50/1.4 is awesome. Hope 85 is as well!

I've been meaning to nab a Bigma, but I just can't bear the thought of lugging around the monolithic beast and my Mark II N (which is heavy anyway)..

Unless it's not really that bad? :cry

No. I just wondered what it was. I figure adding stabilization had to add weight.
