156,000 miles and my truck in not asking too much of me for all she's done on my behalf.
The original waterpump went a good distance and finally gave it up. Time for a new one.

Did some photos for the ol album. A must have.
Man, I like it when I can fix it myself.
I can tell ya that truck forums, youtube and several friends have helped save me many
a dollar for what little this truck has needed.

Truck forums are great for sure. My husband and I are on a number of them as our lives kind of revolve around our trucks. Nothing like getting stuff done yourself, well done thumb.gif

Easily agreed Natalie. :D It is pretty nice when mechanical efforts like
this fall into the range of can do yourself.

I can only imagine how much time (serious love) you and your husband
put into your off roading vehicles and activities. Your many nice images
give me a really good idea of it though and that your having one hell of
a good time at it. I plan on using your example to get out there with the
family and enjoy the landscape more than we have been lately.

I highly encourage it. You see some of the most amazing things when you hit the trails, even if it's just a dirt road. I am glad you enjoy some of the images I have posted from our trips :)

True story Gary. The Power Stroke is a really strong vehicle.

For as many miles on your truck you have really fared well on maint costs.
    Outstanding. thumb.gifthumbthumb.gif
Way better than me. I'm on the 3rd starter. New alternator. New
fuel lift kit. Just put on 4 new shocks and wheels aligned. 2nd set of
batteries. On the 3rd total tran flush. 2nd coolant flush. Regular OC,
fuel & air filters. Have only changed the brake pads once!
Last 5 thou on 2nd set of Michelin's beyond original terribly low rent Firestones.
Pulled those at about 25 thou.
With any kind of luck this is all I will have to do for awhile. :D

Nice shots of your truck. Those air tools are the ticket ain't they? Usually fixing the problem isn't that tough, it's everything you have to remove before you can get to it. I fully understand why mechanic labor is so expensive, brain surgery is a lot easier.:D

Glad you like the pictures Wendell. Thx's for saying. :D:D:D

    Air tools do rock. thumb.gif

Actually as it turns out the fix didn't go so well. I did my part to the letter
and then some but the parts quality from NAPA turned out to be seriously questionable.
The gaskets are not creating a perfect seal as they should. They are not substantial enough.
Made me question my work so I removed and reinstalled only to discover
the same failure. My next conversation with NAPA should be quite
colorful. I wonder if they will step up to the plate and do the right thing.
Brain surgery would have taken less time than I have into this now.
    Dang it. :pissed
