So, my images are that bad, that don't attract anybody's comments?

I entered the first one into the gallery anyway.

I like the first one best as a photo. But it is not really sayiing "Ouch" to me.

Of the Predators Get Caught series, I like #2 best.

call me sqeamish, but those are kind of gross...

I like the colors in #6 and the composition of 2a. Kind of looks like the fish is screaming.

I like #1, and do get "ouch" from the teeth. I think there are people who will be too squeamish for these (kind of like the pict someone was testing out for open/close of a surgical opening). The teeth didn't seem like it should squeam out anyone except those who object to fishing on principle.

Actually, showing the teeth comes from the part of the assignment phrase:

"But I must warn you, I am a master of the martial ar(ts)…"

I chose this image, because it shows the dialog between the 2 involved participants,
especially that the fish with the open mouth looks like telling something…

I have to say that I was always reluctant to these kind of scenes, and
never wanted to see them. - This attitude was especially reinforced by the fact
that my husband is a vegetarian, (partially because he cannot stand
    the idea of hurting animals)

Now, the "open/closed" contest was not related in any way to the word "hurt",

while: "OUCH! Dude, that hurt!" apparently is… am I wrong?

I honestly wanted to skip this contest, and didn't look at all for the opportunity
    of shooting the scenes above.

We were walking along the water, in a small fishing cove in Newfoundland (Canada),
when this 10 years boy approached us.

He asked us if we were photographers, and proposed us to watch a demonstration of
fish catching… I lingered a while on accepting or not the idea, but… I accepted.

What photographer would have refused this opportunity?

Surprisingly, my husband watched the whole demonstration too - it was I think,
an educational session for both of us.
    * Please notice that the fisherman was actually a 10 years, boy, who learned
that things like this are not only acceptable, but inevitable part of life.

I think that it's up to the audience to accept this image or to choose of being hurt by it.

This is my understanding. My cats drive the point home on a regular basis.

    Thank you.

    - I'm afraid that 2a might actually be too harsh for some eyes..., so I'll stay with what I have for now...
