Sometimes doesn't remember gallery arrange, have to repeat multiple times

Tried to rearrange the order of my galleries in this sub-category. I had to repeat the operation 8 times before it finally remembered what I had done. As I'm sure you are aware from previous reports, this bug has been there for awhile. I sure wish you'd squash it.

    John,

Can you give me some details as to what browser and exactly which sorting methods/steps you are using? It works for me and usually does. I know that there have been other reports but I need to figure out what is happening to cause it. I would appreciate any details you can provide.

Every new gallery I add lands last on the sub-cat page. The one I added
Monday took four times to sort first. I selected it and picked "start".

Usually it takes at least two/three sorts to work. Very very rarely works in first try.

IE8. In a sub-category, it's the "Sort galleries: arrange" link that is on the sub-category page itself. I would manually change the gallery order and then hit Save Changes.

FYI, I notice there a JS error when I first hit the "Arrange" link to start the operation.

I have seen this problem in Firefox too, running 3.6.10.
It happens all of the time. I don't remember a time when a single arrange stuck.

Can you post a link to a subcat or cat on your site that I can play with, rearrange, so I can see for myself? I'll post back here when I'm done so you can re-set it to how you want.

    Thanks.

    Most recent problem...
    I added a subcategory, Iceland 2010.
Added 4 galleries to that subcategory.
The subcategory showed at the end of the travel subcats.
    Moved it to the beginning.
    Save.
    Still at the end.
    Moved it again.
Think it took 3 or 4 times for the change to stick.

I have no problem moving sub-cats on a category page that I remember, just drag to new
spot. It's galleries (new) on a sub-cat page that don't move without multiple tries.

Well Denise, I'm done using your site - btw I left it exactly the same as it was. I could move things around, and on one save it saved the way I wanted. But, I was able to reproduce the problem on my live site, and reported it to the engineers. Still can't reproduce it on our test site, but we'll keep trying. Thanks all for the input.

Thanks for looking, and I'm very glad you were able to reproduce it on your live site.

:nah it's only half the battle though. Our Sorcerers can't very easily fix it until we can make it happen on our test site. Still trying.

I've done a bit of arranging since you announced this fix and I'm happy to verify that the arranges are consistently sticking the first time.

    Many thanks!
