Karra and Jared - not a Yosemite wedding

An incredibly beautiful wedding in the high sierra, that was unfortunately a bit of a logistical nightmare. Everyone was getting ready in separate locations with no phone communication. It was pouring down rain for most of the day, and a snap on the back of the brides dress broke (yikes) moments before the ceremony. Nevertheless, it was wonderful for the couple.     OMG! Pat, did you actually underexpose one? Looks like you had to push #2 a couple of stops. A little tiltage in 4 and 6 too. Does this mean you are infact human? Ha! Great set though. I REALLY like 7 and 10 is a great moment as well.

    Sorry Ted, still not safe for public consumption on that one :) Still damn funny though...

    Heather there was a flash going off from someone's point and shoot from the left. I wish I could say that I had the foresight to set up a light, but it wasn't mine. Just a very lucky grab.

    Matt - HA! first of all, my exposures are always all over the place. I'm not too concerned on getting things 100% dead on in camera all the time. In #2 I'm sure the exposure was pretty close to what I ended up with here, I slowed the shutter a bit to add a sense of movement to it. I have added grain to the whole set - I like the way it looks and it seems to fit the couple's style. #4 is tilted for sure - it was a LUCKY grab. I was running up to their place to warn them that they were about to be chewed out by the wedding planner (long story) and they, enjoying a few beers, greeted me like this - I shot from the hip. #6 isn't tilted so much as it is distorted - shot with my 16-35, probably pretty close to 16mm.

    #7 was the one and only portrait I took of the couple that day. It was about 45 minutes after sunset when I had to do family portraits, this was one frame I grabbed of the couple. It rained heavily, the brides dress broke, and there were a few scheduling snafus, so I volunteered to come back and shoot the portraits the next day. The entire bridal party got dressed back up

    Love to see more exterior shots if you have them. The location looks pretty nice. Tom's?

    And here I was just going to ask you what ISO you were shooting with thinking that's where the grain came from. At any rate, incredible set, as always. Love how you handle your flashes and other OCF. Epic.

    Nice! I add grain too. Usually with the exposure slider in ACR, but that's just my technique! thanks for letting me bust your chops a little bit Pat.

    Ian it was an tasteless engraving on the backside of the best-man's flask. I don't have too many pictures of the exterior, it was raining and the ceremony & reception were both in tents. It was at a local resort Paradise Springs.

    Thanks Suzanne! The other side of the coin, is that most of this was shot at 3200iso and up (I think I capped out at 6400iso), so there is a bit of noise in it. In post, I tend to reduce the noise a bit, but also add grain back in for a bit of texture. It just looks a lot more organic to me. Personal preference.

    No worries Matt - trust me I take LOTS and LOTS of crappy pictures. I love to experiment and play around on shoots. Some work, and some don't. Those are just the ones that get deleted quickly :)

    I just checked out the website for that place. Looks like an awesome location. Looks like a great vacation spot too.
