D7000: purchased new from “Roberts” on November 19, 2010.
AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G: purchased new from “Amazon” August 26, 2010, but not used until I received the D7000.
ML-L3 Remote
This kit is as new.

    I have a disability that causes my hands to shake. I need lenses that have “VR”, it is the only way that I can capture a sharp image. Unfortunately, Nikon will not put “VR” in their 24-70mm or 85mm or any of their other Pro lenses.

    I am purchasing an Olympus E-5, which has “VR” built into its body. I will be able to use really sharp glass with the E-5.

    Otherwise, I really liked the D7000. Images captured with the 16-85mm and 70-300mm VR were very good. I was able to return those lenses because it was still within the thirty-day period. However, the body and the 35mm lens are past the return period.

    I do not want to sell the lens by itself. I am selling it for $50 as an inducement to sell the D7K body.

    A good wife is a terrible thing to waste. I told my wife my plans. This evening, she ordered a 24-70mm and a tripod and told me to give this a try before I purchase the E-5. This sale is now on hold pending the outcome of my tripod tests.

    Was going to suggest using a tripod cause I don't think that you'll be happy with an alternate body from anyone else....

    I was so disappointed that I never considered a tripod. The wife says calm down and give it a try. Of course, I thanked her. After all, waiting six months for the D7000, to give it up after a couple weeks of use was an insane idea. The only thing now is that I returned the 16-85mm and 70-300mm, so I am left with the 35mm f1.8 but by the weekend I will have the 24-70mm.

    Life is good again.

    The Nikon wireless remote is very inexpensive if you don't already have it ($15 I think). I recommend it. Makes tripod work really convenient.

    Also, I might add, a quality (solid) tripod is essential. I used to use those cheap tripods sold at Best Buy, but with an expensive camera a high quality tripod is a must.

    I was thinking, even a small monopod might help you out. Pretty portable as well.
