3 Roses and a Book.

Looking for something to shoot, I setup my 2 table lamps, saw some rose flowers, took the book that I am reading, and took this shot. There are really times when you are looking for some inspiration but can't seem to find it.

Thank you very much for viewing.

Hi, I like the composition and processing - but can't help wondering - what colour were the roses?

    Cheers, Richard.

Very nice subject combo and composition. I wonder though, Jiro, how it would look if you used a little selective coloring on the roses.

    Keep the good stuff coming,

    Tom
I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

Nicely done, Jiro; B&W conversions of flowers are controversial around my house. I converted a shot of my wife's geranium in full bloom and she started to pack my bags until I deleted it. Sometimes the beautiful structure of a flower is lost in the blaze of color. Your lighting emphasizes the flower's structure very well.

Thank you very much gentlemen for the nice comments. To answer your common question... it's white. Not exactly white, more like pearly yellowish white. I wish it was red to really make them stand-out, but this is what I have in hand. Thank you always for viewing my work. :D

Werner, flowers must be a sacred thing to all women. Thanks for the heads up. :D

Thanks for this version, Jiro. To me....and I certainly realize it's a personal choice....the roses come off so much better here. I'd like to see the book rendered a little brighter, as in the first version. A picky devil, aren't I?.

You probably have the PP skills to pull off what I'm suggesting....I don't. Both of your submitted versions are strong. I applaud your vision in creating these images.

    Take care brother,

    Tom

No problem, Tom. I like your suggestion, combining the two by bringing back the colors on the rose area only. I think I can do that. :D Will revert back to you later on this one. Thanks bruddah. thumb.gif
