I am really excited to see so many new names/faces this round as well we have a few participants that have come back to join in the fun again. Welcome!

There is one that I question if it a layered image without proper EXIF info. I have a PM into the photographer to confirm.

Not to worry, I hadn't been back in awhile either, and I did exactly the SAME thing...but NO way to redue...Once you vote, it is DONE...hey but at least you voted right...lol:D

First time I have been here in a while and voted. Some great shots, but one just well ... really grabbed me. I guess current protocol is to say which one after all the voting, correct?

First I would like to say great job to all the photogs who posted their work! It's easy to sit back and in your little bubble and tell yourself how good your work is. But to put your work out there to be voted on/critiqued by others take guts, and for that, I applaud all of the contestants. I'm new to DGrin and this is my first time entering one of the challenges. Matter of fact, I'm an amateur photog, and this is my first competition EVER lol! I think I am going to continue to compete....The competition is stiff, but I love the challenge! Again...GREAT WORK YOU GUYS!

Ty - great attitude! I also joined to learn and hopefully, get better. This is my 19th challenge (I think) ~ time flies. If anything, it gives me something creative to focus on and distracts me from the mundane and stressful things in life. This is the one thing I do for me. I would say this challenge overall has some of the best shots from all in a bit , not easy to pick 10 . Maybe only one winner but a would say in this one there are lots of winners

Good to meet you, Ty. I'm an amateur too and have been at it a while. Can't say it's been easy to keep trying, tho. I get disappointed and down on myself thinking I failed or I'm not improving. I must like being punished because I keep coming back!

Good to meet you too Jen...It's healthy for you...and it also helps you to develop thick skin. Nothing gets the blood pumping like a competition! I personally hate to lose, but I hate not trying more than I hate losing, so it's a no brainer for me. I'm going to continue to compete...Always remember the only bad shot is the one you fail to take. It's just my opinion, but what do I know, I'm just a pawn in this chess game lol.

A very good round with very hard choice for voting. Interesting to see the variety of styles and techniques used, and what can be achieved through editing the photos.
Am an amateur myself, and finding the challenges great learning experience. Had tended to take only landscapes to date, so branching into new fields (no pun intended). Have just moved up to my first DSLR camera (a late xmas present to myself!) and finding the challenges a good way of learning the camera's functions.

thanks! It's encouraging to see someone say that every now and then. Most of the time I have no idea if what I'm trying to do is any good or not.

Jen...It really depends on how you want to look at it. If you want your photography to stay a hobby, that is fine. What is NOT fine is NOT being happy with your results, and accepting the attitude that you will never get any better. The fact that you even entered the contest is a good sign that you are very interested in photography and thus, you want your images to get better. If it's something you want to get better at, you have to work at it consistently. Take images every week, read the books/articles, watch the tutorials, and study the pictures that your favorite photographers are creating to spark some inspiration. I do all of the following, and I'm still not where I want to be. I'm even taking 3 photography related classes at my community college. You CAN do it...you already have the hardest part down....the INTEREST in the craft.

I am still waiting for an answer from my PM about EXIF info. And since the image in question is in the top five I will give the photographer 24 hours more to answer me before I make the very tough decision to disqualify due to no confirmation.

The results will not be revealed until then.
