When I retired a few years back folks said that I would be bored and wouldn't have anything to do. :rofl

Then Andy asked me to mod at this thing called Dgrin. The pay was right (nothing) and the hours were flexible. So why not? :dunno

I started out with the D100 and the Nikon 80-400 VR

Moved up to the D2H

The D200

The D2X

the D300

The D3

Coming soon some pics from my brand new D3s

I hosted the Merritt Island shoots for 5 years and got to meet and shoot with a bunch of Dgrinners

I was promised a toaster and/or a black Smugmug hat when I hit 20,000 posts but I'm still waiting for my swag. :cry

Oh well, maybe I'll get it when I hit 30,000 which should be soon unless I get that life thing I keep hearing about.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

What a milestone Harry. These examples really show that you are a master of your art. bowdown.gifbow I've been away from dgrin for awhile and was wondering if you are still doing the Merrit Island photo shoots.

    Congrats Harry
    Harry B:

I have enjoyed all 20,000 and was honored to attend one Florida shoot!

Some of my favorite shots come from that shoot, and there was not enough time to shoot or talk to the "Master of Merritt Island"

Some Chimps I met along the way:

You know, although I only attended one, I always enjoyed that they took place. Any chance of reviving them in the future?

Congrats, and here's to 20,000 more!

It is the purpose of life that each of us strives to become actually what he is potentially. We should be obsessed with stretching towards that goal through the world we inhabit.

Thanks Z. I would love to revive the MI shoots but unless a miracle occurs and our County Commissioners' brains start to work again it ain't possible.

They cut the wetlands road funds by a third ($20,000). In the past when it rained they would work on the roads immediately and the wetlands would be open to cars within a day. Now with the cuts they just close down the place until it dries out so one drizzle can shut the place down for an entire week.

I just can't have shoooters come in from as far away as London and British Columbia w/o some assurance that the main shooting locale will be open. The ironic thing is that the MI shoots brought on an average a little bit more than $20,000 into the county.
