I thought Canon's 1200mm 5.6L ruled, until I saw this. Wow. The Canon has AF, while Nikon's doesn't. With the 1200-1700, Nikon has every millimeter covered from 14mm(wider?) to 1700mm: 14-24, 24-70, 70-200, 80-400, 360-1200, and 1200-1700. But wait... Canon 2000mm TV lens.

I wonder how many of these exist in the world... Canon's 1200 is rumored to have less than 20 copies throughout the world. SI, Natgeo, Jim Jannard, CPS, etc. B&H sold some to the public for $99,000 or $120,000.

Lemme guess the 1200-1700 is old news to Harry? :D

Edit: check out the Nikon 300mm f2.0!

The Nikon 1200-1700 was only made to order. I heard that they go for around $100,000 (I don't really believe that but who knows). I think only about 15 were ever made.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Just saw this... the Canon 1200mm 5.6 is available right now on ebay; if you've got an extra $81,500 laying around, you can own one!rolleyes1.gif

    It's serial # 225. I doubt there are 225 in the world.
