I like it! I'd try cropping the water from the bottom but then experiment with cutting from the right and the left so that the point of the stone wall in the foreground doesn't fall dead center in the photograph. I think if you did this it would more strongly emphasize all the wonderful geometric shapes you captured.

Very, very nice on both!

I think i would keep some of the water on the first - maybe just below the intersection with the wall on the left - and the windows on the right.

#2 is a wow on the theme.

I love building lines, but the lone gentleman is amazing! beautiful capture of his far off stare, and a body position that says uncomfortable/un-easy.
for me personally, this needs two things. to be drawn to that face. Right now it takes me a split second to scan the image and land on his face. It's a beautiful moment of discovery, but I think his face and the pigeons are competing with the brightness of the building window, sidewalk and the upper left corner. The other thing I personally think it needs is an amazing title. Good luck!

Love the second version of the buildings with the crop!

But the man with the pigeons is much stronger on theme. There's such a story to that shot and these types of images have done well in past challenges.

Just for the heck of it, can you post a B&W version of the latter? I'm curious to see that side by side with the color one.

Love them both! Of the buildings shots, I actually prefer the first before the crop, I just think it feels more grounded, and B&W is perfect for it....in agreement with the others, your lonely man shot is awesome for the challenge! Nice job to come up with two great shots!

I like #1 and #3, but #3 is much more interesting to me.

I really like the B&W version of the man. But I'm not convinced this is the optimal crop for it. I think you need to leave a little more of the folks in the background in the photo. Doing this would show more of the "world" from which he's disconnected himself. You can still put more emphasis on the man by adding a (very) subtle vignette to the image.

I like the context with the young men walking away in the BG. And the movement of the birds against his stillness. The last crop really works for me.

Thank you for all the help and kind comments. I think the hardest time I had was coming up with a title. I just kept looking into those eyes trying to imagine what he was really thinking or where he was at in his mind. I just couldn't put myself in his mind. Disconnected was the word that kept coming back to me. Not very original but it just fit for me.
