Hey guys look or comment or whatever. First time I have ever done a person dressed in military clothes, so comments on how I handled that would be great. Basically I just did what I do and didn't change anything because of it.

01. Started ouit a little flare-happy!

    My fave are 10 & 11. Now, because you're already a master, I'm going into nit-picky constructive feedback :D
    - #1 I don't mind the flare but in terms of composition the wall line cutting through him is catching my eye?
    - I really like #2, but composition might have been even better had they been sitting on the complete right, this way the plant would have led the eye to their heads + you would've gotten more of that lovely backlight outlining their heads. Same comment for the beautiful #3.
    - #4... I get the temptation to keep it, but I'd cut it, because of his expression. Maybe if he had squeezed her butt and they were both laughing forward, that would have been a stellar shot?
    - #5 agreed... too wide. I love the concept however.
    - #6. I love the flare, the composition is oh so close to perfect. What stops me from perfect? The line made by the tree trunk. I think it makes things go off balance. I would love to have seen them alined with the 2nd tree from the right (this is really nitpicking)
    - #7 is very good even though it's kind of a tight crop
    - #8 It's 99% awesome - his expression is oh so slightly off?
    - #9-12 - love 'em!!

    Hope that helps :D

Thanks for taking the time to be so detailed! I have to say I didn't see most of that and mostly agree. I do like his expressions in both 4 and 8 however. I took plenty of each and have more typical looks, but those were accurate expressions from him. 4 I almost culled, but I saw it as a more personal view of him. That being said I can see why someone who doesn't know him wouldn't see any of that so I probably should have used more typical expressions to show people on a public forum! Here are a couple others

All that aside though I appreciate your comments. It is always great to learn from another persons eyes.
    Thanks gain!

    HI Matt

I really like 4b for his expression, but I might crop it only because the partial body on her is a little strange? If you cropped it at the waist though it would be really awesome :D
As for 8b, there is something amazing about it. I really love it above and beyond 8 - something in his eyes? I'd keep that one over 8 :D

    Hi Matt,
I'm really diggin #10 and #11 as well. These just pull it off for me. I can see the client requesting these to be blown up and hanging on the wall. Very nice!

    Matt,

I really love them all comp wise (except 4-it's not quite a Hi Mom pic like 8, and not quite a candid romantic), but ...IMHO, I'd love all the vintage processed ones way more with the straight processing that you used on the beachside images. Those are the standouts in a strong set.

Thanks smurfy. For the record, these all have essentially the same processing except for 5, 9 and 11 which are basically strait out of camera raw.
