    Excellent shots I really like the composition and the subjects .
    I am curious as to why the Trumpeter was playing with one hand on his instrument while his left hand is open the way it is .

    Thanks, all.

    I believe the hand is out as just a capture in time, perhaps as the final note of the piece (more than the hand out for a handout, which is covered by a sign not in the photos).

    The instrument is the same in #1 and #2. My guess is that it is a pocket trumpet -- a few twists and turns too many for a flugelhorn.

    #1 I liked for the reasons Ben stated. #2 I liked the stripes and plaids of the passerbys matched with the performer.
