You could just create a page on your NEW SmugMug and add to that page an IMAGE BLOCK and COMMENTS BLOCK - that will work great as a Guestbook.
With regards,
Hello Tom,
Yes, I just discovered that a few hours ago, and set up a page on my new site.
I have an old-style Guestbook gallery on my legacy site (like Andy Williams used to have on Moon River Photography). It's got a whole bunch of comments! I am being told that the gallery comments "don't migrate at this time". That must have been known when the new SmugMug was launched. Why didn't they tell folks? I am trying to understand if there is any hope for getting them to my new site? I am ready to "unveil" in all other respects. If I "unveil" do I lose any hope of getting them migrated over?
Please advise. http://www.douglasgoodphotography.com/
Hi Tom,
I have an embedded email address in my old-style Guest Book gallery on my old site.
I am having difficulty doing the same on my Guest Book page on my new site.
I was using the same technique outlined in the help pages.
Hi Doug,
Hi Doug,
I created a page as above and then copied the text from my old Guestbook, email link included, and it set up fine. As far as the former gallery comments, there is still hope: http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=236590 See comment 13 and 20.
My new site is not unveiled yet so here's a link to a screen capture of the new Guestbook.

Rae,
Thanks for the response! Unfortunately the link in my old Guestbook is no longer working. I am pretty sure that is because I tried to edit comments on the new site. SmugMug gave fair warning about that. I developed a Guestbook "page" on my new site (still unveiled). I used a text block, and have since learned that SmugMug has tightened the rules on HTML allowed there. Guess I could have used an HTML block instead, but I chose to resurrect my contact page on the new site. Usually more than one way to skin the cat....but I do appreciate your response!
Yes, I am following the same Guest Book Comments thread as well. Sounds hopeful. I am trying to get a response as to whether if they do provide a solution if it will still work after one has "unveiled" and cut the cord with the legacy site - no answer on that yet.
I just created another email link in my about page. What you tried should have worked in a text block. Here's what I pasted in my text box and it's working (edited the email address):
Sorry, can't past the code as it turns into an email link when viewing. It's exactly what you linked to though.
