When I arrived the youngest was having a tantrum. Took a while for her to warm up. These have only been adjusted for color and exposure, and cropped. No other edits yet. C&C welcome, thanks for looking.

An "accurate" reproduction of a scene and a good photograph are often two different things.

    Excellent session.

I think I'd prefer the shots of the entire family in a 4x5 format, but, If they order 8x10's, problem solved!

Thanks Bryce. Agreed, but I leave everything in 2:3 so they can order whatever they want and I will apply final cropping before releasing the order.

Thanks Kate! I think 3 is one of my favorite family pics I've ever taken. I love the connection the girl is making with the camera, and dad smiling out of focus in the bg.

How'd I miss these?! A very, very nice set. Are you using fill flash, or all natural light?

On camera or off (that's what I was mainly thinking - where is it?). And dude, I LOVE ETTL - I've been shooting for what, nearly 6 years and only THIS WEEK tried manual flash?!?!? rolleyes1.gif

Oh, it's on-camera. I sort of wish I had gotten it off to the side with a shoot-through umbrella, but the 3 year old was already put-off enough by my scary DSLR. I wanted to keep the gear factor down, and be able to move around quickly.

I'm blown away by how good the balance is. whenever I use it on camera, I never get results like these. Obviously, you have beautiful evening lifht to start with, but even so, this is outstanding useof fill flash in my opinion , and kind of amazing on camera.

PS. Apologies in advance for typos and any other weirdnesses . I am using Google Voice, which sometimes gets,um, creative...

Thanks. Although the first shot was at 10:11am, and the last at 10:50am.

Which speaks even more to what a great job you did - the light should have sucked, even in the frozen north.... :giggle
