Yellow Mullein
I find the details, as well as the overall impact, of these flowers very attractive. I have a number of varieties in my garden, of which a species (Verbascum phlomoides? or a cultivar thereof) is the most spectacular. It has the added attraction of its clothing of long, white hairs on the stems and foliage.
These were shot with my Kiron 105mm macro, mostly at f11, ISO 400, typically 1/800 sec (very gusty, strong wind).

Thanks, Brian.
Horticulturally, it is probably marketed more as the genus. There are mini versions of this (small, yellow species) at our nature reserve.
You may have heard of, or seen images, of the Mullein Moth Cucullia verbasci as caterpillars.
