@slpollett said: @denisegoldberg , I did join FOP under slpollett. I have not received the email to confirm my email. I have requested it to be re-sent several times, but I haven't received it yet. I have verified that the email address is correct and is the one I use. I received an email from dgrin to notify me of this message and I'm receiving mail from other sources, but still nothing from FOP. I'm working on it!

I don't think I ever received an email confirmation from FOP but my account seems to be working OK.
I can see the home page without the email confirmation, but I can't do anything because it tells me my account is waiting confirmation.
I tried to set up FOP forum under a different user name and my photography email instead of my personal one. I'm getting the same issue--it tells me it has sent a confirmation email, but I haven't received one. I requested it to be re-sent and still nothing. I am at a loss of what else to try.

I assume you've already checked, but just in case... is there any chance the email to you was tagged as spam?

Yal, I made it there but totally confused as there are so many forums.
Yes, it's a bit confusing at first. It seems to emphasize sharing similar pics in most threads, unlike Dgrin, where that was considered rude if the OP didn't ask for it. I think it's just a matter of patience to grasp what makes it tick. On balance, it looks much like Dgrin did maybe 15 years ago.

Yes, that's the correct one. Note: There are several color themes available, including Dark and Dark+, which would be more familiar to Dgrinners. This one is Midnight Blue+.
I've created a version using a browser extension called 'Stylus'. I've done this for my Facebook, YouTube; DDG/Google; Flickr and a few others.
Also, just in case I don't run into some D-grinners on other sites, I have really enjoyed my interactions here.
I joined Dgrin in February 2007, it was mainly to post an admiring comment about a Horsetail Falls firefall photo posted by @ehughes and ask where in Yosemite he had taken that shot. I lurked and picked up a lot of info. A couple of years later I got my first DSLR and I eventually overcame my lurking to start asking questions. Thanks @ziggy53, @pathfinder, @David_S85, and many more for the many helpful replies. I eventually developed the confidence to participate in the challenges, but not enough to post photos for critique. I would like to thank all members for making this a friendly place to learn and share photography. I hope to "see" many of you in the future either on Flickr,
FOP, or other photography sites. I wish you all the best.

There are now quite a few former Dgrin members on the https://focus-on-photography-forum.net/ site. Grateful to @David_S85 for pointing the way. Mentioning this again in case some Dgrin folks see this page after the website stops accepting new posts but is still visible here or via the Wayback machine on Internet Archive. In addition to the Focus on Photography Forum, there is also a Digital Grin group on Flickr here.

Bfluegie joined on Friday and is using the same username and picture. Grandma R is "great grandma Rosalie" on FOP. She joined yesterday and has posted.
And yes, I am keeping an eye on the newest members list that Denise mentioned.
Oh heck, I am going to violate the most sacred of sacreds, and post something from a sub-forum that almost none of you ever knew about, The Moderator's Chambers. The what you say? Ahem, yes, the admins and mods had a whole lot of fun here behind the scenes that none of you could ever see. All forums have those for internal communications and discussions. So I am going to post a screen grab of a page from a whole lot of years ago. When we got a new moderator (we've had dozens), the Moderator's song came up to welcome them. So, here is one of those pages. Sorry, I can not divulge the contents of other 100,000 posts there.

You are most welcome to join in all the fun we're adding to that forum. It would be a pleasure seeing what you're shooting lately and chatting abut the photos and such.

Hey Awais.
Great to hear from you. It's been a long time. Are you still doing photography? You were one of the best.
