Maybe these could be listed as improvements...but here we go...
1. Photos in the shopping cart. When dealing with images in the shopping cart - trying to crop, for example - the site is horribly slow to move to the cropping page. Then when going back to view the list of images in cart, it's slow again. Slow to load. I mean very slow. Nothing else is slow...just dealing with photos in the cart. Any way to greatly improve speed?
2. Can we get an option to get wallet size photos? I have to keep using another provider to get those
Thanks

What kind of connection do you have? How many photos did you add and have in the cart? What platform and browser do you use?
The cart performance has improved dramatically lately, this is unusual to hear.
We have wallets, and have had them for a looooong time.

Windows XP with latest version of Internet Explorer - all patches and updates.
I had about 144 pictures in the cart.
I must have missed the wallets. Oops...
I don't know what to say about the cart. 144 is a fair amount of pics in there. You must remember all that we're doing with that gross of photographs. I just added 144pics to my cart as a test, it was 50 seconds. Then about a 35secs to get to the first step in the cart. I don't consider that unreasonable. Then I did 250, and that was 1min 25sec.
Run a www.dslreports.com packet loss test on your line. Let's hear the results.

And here's my stats...
dslreports.com speed test result on 2006-02-20 20:41:50 EST:
3851 / 347
Your download speed : 3851 kbps or 481.4 KB/sec</B>.
That is 18.6% better than avg. other reports from xxxx
Your upload speed : 347 kbps or 43.3 KB/sec.
That is 0.5% worse than avg. other reports from xxxx
Upload could be better, but downloads have always rocked
And, the packet loss test? <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6029383/emoji/ear.gif" border="0" alt="" >

If you can, you might want to give Firefox a try. It's free and might solve your problem.
In our internal tests, the shopping cart is dramatically faster on Firefox than IE. It's not that the connection is any faster - both received the data just fine. It's that IE took a lot longer (50-100% longer) to actually draw the page, even though it had received all of the data.
FYI, we recently enhanced our shopping cart, and our internal testing was done using carts with 1,000+ items in them. SmugMug would send all of the required data within about a minute, and Firefox would require another minute or so to draw the page. IE would sometimes take up to 5 minutes to draw everything, even though it'd already finished downloading.
It's also possible you've uncovered a bug in the shopping cart. Can you point us to the gallery in question you were adding from? We might be able to track it down that way.
