Well I like the popular photo thingy. Honestly, I wouldn't have guessed that this photo was my most popular photo on my site. Groovy.

So I had the idea that maybe other people would find that they had popular photos that turned out to be a surprise too. So quick, look in your site's popular photos box and post the very first one that's in there. My assumption is that is your site's most popular photo will be the first photo in that box.

Here is mine:

This is what pops up first at www.pathfinder.smugmug.com I have always liked it, but don't think it is anywhere near my best shot.

I really don't know how this works.... my most popular is VERY recent. In fact, all 6 of the photos showing are within the last couple weeks.

Regardless, it's one of my daily photos:

Have people's popular's been changing? Looks like yes from some of the posts... mine have been the same since this feature was added. It's fine if no one goes to my site and looks at my photos, that doesn't bother me. I'm still just curious how this works. So even if I'm the only one that goes to look at my own photos and rate them, my current top 6 don't jive with my own recent activity.

(sorry if this thread isn't about this feature, just about the shots - I'll move it if you think so)

Mine is the only public one that somebody ever bothered to rate and comment on. I don't think my public galleries draw much traffic. rolleyes1.gif

Thanks, I dig it too. Just started wearing it this week. Fully mechanical jump hour. I took it out of the box after probably a few years, shook it a few times, set it, and it's been ticking away just fine since. :D

I've been trying to learn about it, some history... Lip you say? I'll look that up.

Just discovered the thread. My daily photo visitors have chosen:
    62231241-L.jpg
even though it has "only two" 4-star comments it tops an older daily photo which has five 5-star and a 4-star rating. :D

I think I see Jerry Garcia in the back row. But seriously, if that's the Norcal crowd, they've changed a lot in the three years that I've been gone. A few faces are vaguely familiar. But really, you're the only person I could pick out, and I've never met you! Surprising, because I've been on a few events with that crowd. These faces aren't really ringing any bells for me. I'm thinking of the usual suspects that I don't see like Doc, Rad, Fish, Tugrik, Crash, Baldy (of course he's behind the camera...), and a bunch of others I can't think of right now. Wait, is that Crash with a goatee in the front row? headscratch.gif Where was that picture taken?

lol3.gif It was the first BYOB, in Rolla. I remember by name TrailAce, Mogwai, Goony, Poser, TweakingRT (!), Komet, Krautbikeman, Rider, Pilot and me. I'm embarassed that I can't remember the name of the very nice guy between Pilot and KB.

OK, now they can their thread back. lol3.gif
