This young lady and gentleman are planning their wedding for next month and asked me to be the contracted photographer (oh boy!). Anyway, I thought it might be smart (especially on my part) if the four of us (the two of them, their daughter, and me) visited a local park for a hour or so for an informal photo shoot. The following are some of those that passed muster and were admitted to post processing. C&C are always welcomed. Thanks for looking.

#3 Mom and daughter

#4 Clowning around, they are finally getting comfortable with me. BTW, I see the background issues. I saw them when I was shooting. They wanted the shot, so we did it - photons are cheap!

    Hi, Scott_Quier
Great photos and they look like a happy family.
Good Luck with the wedding photos.
I have a wedding to shoot next month also on September 30.
It will be my first paid wedding shoot.
My main camera is a Olympus C-8080.
My back up camera is a Fuji S3000.
I have a 1G CF card and got a 1G XD card for my birthday this month.
So, I have plenty of storage space.
I have two batteries so, I hope that will be enough.
Do you plan on having more than two batteries available
    for your wedding shoot?
Have you shot a wedding before?

2 camera bodies - both EOS
    3 camera batteries
3 sets of batteries for the flash (only one flash though)
    2 x 2GB, 2 x 1GB, 1 X 512 CF memory

Aside from the flash, I have back-ups of everything. Even if one of my lenses crap out, one of the others can pull the load. Not as well, but it can.

This is the first wedding where I am the primary. A couple of months ago, I went to a wedding as a guest and brought my camera. I got so into it that many of the other guests thought I was the contracted photographer. And, after the proofs came back, the wedding couple were much more pleased with my photos than with the "pros." That kind of made me feel both good (nice ego stroke) and bad (for them that they didn't get fair value).

The first three are better. #5, I put her in the wrong spot, light was just a little intense!

Thanks for the kind words, all. I really appreciate them. I just hope the pictures from the main event turn out as well.

To that end, I am going to visit the venue sometime this week (it's outdoors at a beach) at the time of day of the wedding (4:30 - 6:00 PM) and see what I have for light and where I'm going to need to be to get the shots.
