Dunno, PC or Mac, can't imagine only using 512mb ram with today's ram hungry programs.

I know...I regret not adding the additional ram and Hard Drive space when I bought the computer.

I could see it as a ram problem if I had a bunch of programs running but I'm having problems when just one is open.ne_nau.gif It's not a bad delay, usually 1-2 seconds, but it's enough to notice and I never had that problem before on my 833mhz/256mb.

    Okay...I guess so.mwink.gif

On the PB-G4 you just remove the keyboard. How's it done on the MBP? Also, I've never upgraded ram on a Mac - do you just slap it in and go?

Yes, but you have to install it in matching pairs.

    OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    NOW I get it!

You have a MacBook Pro! This being a thread started on the MacPro (I know, easy to confuse!), I figured you had the tower.

I don't even dare to go back and read what kind of misinformation I've been giving you!

I put RAM in mine, follow the instructions, it's very easy.

is that true for old PowerBook G4's too? I hadn't realized that, if so. (and I was about to buy a 1GB stick to upgrade my 512M to 1.5G, which may not work? hmm.)

not true. you can install 1gb stick by itself. As always, use the resources on Crucial.com as a good guide, too.
