I see the Page X of Y stuff is theme-corrected now. Knew it was coming, but glad to see it in. :D I'm trying to find the smiley that does backflips, because I have a feeling I might need to use it soon. mwink.gif

I think I found a problem that hasn't been mentioned before. The problem exists on this photo http://beta.smugmug.net/popular/today/1/2900 ("Smugmug_Birds_Banner") or any other very small photo. On these small images, I'm unable to get the photo rank pop up box to display. I've replicated this problem on both the latest Safari and Firefox...I'm running OS 10.4.8.

I'm really looking forward to when this gets out of beta!

I guess I'll chime in here, though I admit to not having actually trolled the betas this weekend.

I've noticed several problems with the current code, and I'm hoping they were on the list of things that got fixed in the new stuff (aside from my SiteMeter problems...)

In certain circumstances, which I haven't been able quite to characterize yet, photo pages don't have *any* navigation at the top that will let people back to my home page.

The Home link, for non-logged-in users points to Smug's home, not mine, but I realize that I can customize around that. The lack of crumbtrail seems a more difficult problem.

Additionally, I note that when I'm on a photo page, I cannot get to the Original sized photo *even if I'm logged on*. I'd characterize that as a design decision rather than a big, but I still think it's a lack.

I did, and found this on the Look & Feel help page:
Why isn't smugmug small listed as a choice? Because selection between smugmug and smugmug small is provided automatically after we sense the user's monitor size. We serve smugmug small to users who have 800x600 pixel monitors to prevent scrolling, and smugmug to people with 1024x768 and above.
It must be getting close to the new release......

    Hi All,

Some weird reaction on my site , need help!:cry
Majority (97%) of my galleries in both 'motorcycles' & 'other' are "smugmug gradient" / style: smugmug"
however when you enter any of these, say....
    http://rich56k.smugmug.com/gallery/2179682
its OK until you try any of the following:
click on any other thumb, click arrow for next pic, or the cool new 'page dropdown #'s....
as soon as you try any of these you get a blank white (!) screen with only my statcounter # in upper left corner ...eieeeeeee!!:cry :cry

    yikes!!!!

    help please!!
    rich56k
also takes a second for the first gallery page to load...(not so bad til you try to go anywhere from the initial page...)
ps: my 'journal' style galleries are fine , but they're only a small percentage of my galleries....

    Rich,

pls set this variable in your statcounter code...

    var sc_invisible=1;

I am pretty sure that will fix the problem.

    Cheers,

    Just a little comment
Apart from my bug report regarding double byte support issue in new comment function.

I found new comment function can improve user-friendyless as well. Now, 'add comment' button is not easily regonized and also need to select comment types, it is not friendly deisgn. Hope someone can take this advice.

    Thx.

The statcounter seems to work well on my pages, without the sc_invisible workaround. (e.g. http://www.streetsofboston.com/gallery/1293637) headscratch.gif
I can't grasp the notion of time.

When I hear the earth will melt into the sun,
    in two billion years,
    all I can think is:
"Will that be on a Monday?"

I realize the Beta is over and this is a little late, but...

I have comments turned off in my galleries. However when I select a style other than "smugmug", I see the "Add Comment" button underneath the picture.

If I click the button I get the comment form to fill out, but submitting the form doesn't actually add the comment.

My expectation is that I wouldn't see the "Add Comment" button at all in a gallery with comments disabled.

    Thanks.

Where's the SmugMug small Style option?
Ever since the "SmugMug small" option was removed from the gallery style dropdown, which is what I had set for all my galleries, now my pages are spread out width-wise in my browser instead of staying contained to the width of my header, here's what I mean, it's easier to show than to explain....does anyone have a fix or ideas on this. To fix it temporarilly, I just changes to filmstrip or slideshow...but I'd rather have the old "SmugMug small" option back!! Thanks.

Looked and looked and finally found it.:D It's under gallery customization
where you can now force the style. Problem is the popular and keyword
galleries have no "customize gallery" options.

    Lost Exif in Shared photos?
Since the beta changes, I've noticed that linking the photo on to boards (such as dgrin and dpreview) no longer shows exif data using IExif.

Also, getting the link for sharing now takes 2 clicks to get to the site. Anyway for it to be shown underneath the photo if linking to ext sites is allowed in customization. You could have a "Share this photo: T S M L O" and right clicking would give the ----.smugmug.com/photos/#####-M.jpg link.
Just a thought as I currently type this in and it is a bit cumbersome.
    Thanks,
    E

The files haven't changed. If you are linking Originals (which have exif) then it's still there.

    Andy-
I guess I'm mis-remembering but it seemed that linking to a -S/-M/-L file in the past retained the exif info. If not, that would be greatly appreciated sometime down the road.
