    original:
    DSC00569-vi.jpg

    my changes:
    barn.jpg

I did 3 adjustment layers first, auto levels, hue/saturation (turned blue up and red up quite a bit), and brightness contrast (about +35 brightness, -15 contrast).

Then I applied a mask to the door, and added a grain filter (vertical) followed by a desaturation. I created a layer that just had this desaturated, grainier door, and then blended it in with about 50% opacity.

Then I flattened the image, and used the "variations" to make it a little "more red".

Mostly I was just fiddling with knobs and faders until I thought it looked cool.
There's a thin line between genius and stupid.

I decided to mess with the Blend modes. So I made a copy, and tried 'em all, with a bit of masking. Unfortunately, I can't remember which mode I used. :D I like how it made the sky a dark blue.

    Ok here is mine
I kinda liked it the way it was.
    Cropped to 8x10
Ran slight curve to bring out more blue in the sky...color in BG trees and kill the HUE of the snow/sky.
    Layer>New Image Layer>Curves

This probably the way I'll leave it to frame and sell.
Dunno what it was that caught my eye other than it's rusticness. :D

    Ok time to get CrAzY!!
Ok here is another I just did with selctive color! (PhotoShop CS)
Stripped color outta whole pic. Colored in the door and all the windows.

MANY have asked how this is done!
    Layer>New Layer Adjustment>Hue Saturation
    Popup window hit OK
Then take middle (Saturation)slidder all the way to the left.
    Thus total B&W pic
Play with bottom slidder (Bightness) to make darker or lighter if ya want.
    Click ok

Then go to Paintbrush in Tool Pallet...and re enter kidnergarden all over again!
Trace an outline of the area you want then increase brush size (Circle) to cover inside of trace faster.

When your done go to Layer>Merge Visable Layers and then save image! thumb.gif
THANX Tim Kirkwood for teaching me this!!!

    Jim

asked me to do something with this image...... the only thing I kept thinking was what needs to be done is it needs to be torn down.

So since everyone has kinda done what most of us would do with this shot. Spedia, B&W, and Dees creativeness was unexpected and impressed I was.

So I took five mins and I was the big bad wolf that blew it down...

Here is what I came up with....not the best but something.

I thought I'd try something more conventional
I cropped this. Took the yellow color out of it and curved it.

Going along with Tim's Ghost idea...

    14450665-M.jpg
    Here's what I did:

    Image>adjustments>Channel Mixer
    select monochrome
    output:-black
    red:0
    green:+160
    blue:-70

    Then I imported my ghost.

After she was sized, positioned and blended, then I changed her opacity to 70%.

    Finally, From channels, select Green
    filter>blur>Gaussian Blur at 2 pixels

    Hope you like it... :D

Was a lotta fun and glad you Guys/Gals had fun with it! :D

Was hopping to see a few more ideas but the ones that were submitted are great! Plenty of educational ideas.

Guess it was a lil hard to top Dee and Tim's! bowdown.gif

I'll watch for some other subjects in the future and we can do this again! thumb.gif
