I think the fact that Robert and Nikolai only have two in common says something about the quality of the entries... and the hard job the judges have.

No point in using my list to compare. I’ve always had very different taste to everybody around me. I’m just an oddball. ;)

Isn’t that something? I hadn’t seen the semifina-list when I posted that comment. 5 out of 10 ain’t bad for an oddball.
And than I get it so wrong with my own picture, at least from Andy’s view. Amazing.

    my faves:

Oh cool I am glad I am making some people's lists. I really struggle with this challenges which is fustrating as I can capture great sport images that are completly unpredictable but I cant seem to nail down a challenge.

I know that feeling! I was shocked when I won this time. I've entered several other challenges and never been picked for top 10. I can take pictures of people, but challenges? Not happening!

Yours was a wonderful picture, photogmama! As were many others, some of which made it and some of which did not.

I cried last night (yes, I was just closing down) when I saw that the list was posted and that my photo, Children's Fountain, was in the ten.

At the time I didn't know how to post how happy that made me, I still don't, but it was a great feeling.

I had not looked at all the other entries as I was scared that if I did I would never enter, especially as there were so many. And the ones I looked at seemed very good.
With Children's Fountain, it is a photo I like so much I could have still "lived" if it had not been chosen.....................but it is one of those things: rich is better than poor, and chosen is better than not.

    I cried!!! I did.

I have been sick (sinus, UTI, etc) and that was the last photo I took before I came home on what I think was last Thursday. I couldn't walk any further than the fountain area.
I worked it up (easily, except the totally unfamiliar Lightroom was on my PC), so I worked it up early the next morning to make it my daily.

I am still a bit in shock. I had not expected to enter this whole thing. People just get better and better. And more of them, smile.

I am a judge this next time around. YIKES!!!!!
so anyway, I won't be conversing.

But I did want to let you know how positively thrilled I am!! How good all the entries are looking as I see more and more of them.
Photogmama..............I had seen your photo and loved it as it was right by Children's Fountain.
Congrats, too, to all who did get to the final ten.......of any of these rounds.

ginger (should be shooting again in a week. Oh, I have a trip to an offshore lighthouse (mid day light) on Sunday. I will shoot then.)
After all is said and done, it is the sweet tea.

My top ten in order of appearance:

#9 Fields of Gold - thebigsky
Beautiful sky, nice flowers, a little dark in the foreground. Made me feel like I want to be there.

    #13 Pennsylvania Railroad Bridge - Tessa_HD
Living in SoCal, I miss the snow. Very tranquil feel, beautiful bridge and stream.

    #21 Untitled - Speck26
I'd love to be able to take a shot like this. Stunning seascape.

    #29 Broken Pattern - Brett
Great execution of irregular. Very creative.

    #41 Poised Elegance - Swartzy
This loon is picturesque to me. Perfect light and color.

#49 While you were sleeping... - TylerW
    Great sunset shot.

    #66 Gnarly Wedge - Netgarden
Best wave I've seen in a while. Very irregular. I can hear the ocean roar.

    #87 Pizza Delivery - JimW
Awesome. My favorite shot of the whole set. Highly irregular.

    #88 Luminescence - annna8888
My favorite picturesque of the whole set. Great use of a fisheye.

    #97 - Chicago, A Beans Eye View
I was on the fence with this one, not because it's not a great shot, but because I've seen bean shots I've liked more fairly recently.

So I picked 4 out of the 10... not bad for a first attempt.

Well at least I seem to be getting the 'peoples' vote, that's some consolation I suppose mwink.gif

    Finally found the entry thread...
...so that I can list the rest of my favorites. In no particular order:

Pennsylvania Railroad Bridge by Tessa_HD. A lovely shot! Congratulations!!

Linens from the Outlet by Urbanaries. Your son is adorable. The towel draped over his head really draws the eye toward those beautiful long lashes of his.

Broken Pattern by Brett. Neat concept, nicely executed, IMHO.

Postcard by jillo. Funny and original conveyance of picturesque.

Poised Elegance by Swartzy. I love studying the details of his feathers. Nice capture.

Gone to Seed by Dee. This one cracked me up. Nice conveyance of irregular.

The Lookout by Ristyz. Yours dog's royal bearing absolutely bowled me over. One of the finest animal portraits I've seen.

Blue. Boston, MA. by eoren1. You worked hard at getting that shot right and the night view rocks!

Gnarley Wedge by Netgarden. A nice capture. Love the shape of the wave.

The Children's Fountain by ginger_55. Nice candid of 4-legged child slurping up water from a 2-legged child's water fountain. Very well seen!

    6 out of 10
I've had some internet problems so am just getting around to posting my choices in no particular order.

Life is a roller coaster of ups and downs, Sherstone
Wonder how he took that one?

    Broken pattern by Brett
I love the idea, but wonder if some different lighting would have helped it "sparkle" a bit more.

    Untitled by speck26
A real pro, check her website! I wonder where this was taken?

    Poised Elegance by Swartzy
I can only imagine how difficult it was to get this shot.

    While you were sleeping, TylerW
Wow, that's all I could say about this one -- and taken in my backyard so to speak. What a sensation of floating at the top of the world...

    Lemonscape by LiquidAir
I just adored this one! Simple, clean, yet dramatic, and most irregular.

View from the Window, Beach Bill
    Caught the light right!

    The children's fountain by Ginger_55
I've been wondering where Ginger has been lately! The body language on the dog is just much, and tells the story, while grabbing my attention. What a happy dog!

    Waiting, photomama
I kept coming back to this one, and in the end decided it was a favorite.

    Luminescence by Anna8888
Irregular view, captured with lots of -- luminescence :-)

    Honorable Mention:

I have a few of these, but one that just missed my top ten was

Gnarly Wedge by Netgarden... I think if the post processing had been stronger the image would have been much more dramatic.
