I am surprised. Over 50 lurkers and no talkers. I really like the series. I have neverhad the opportunity to visit England, so enjoy the views. I think my favorite is #2.

In this great big world around us, we will find what we are looking for! What we do with it is up to us to decide.

I have to say I like No.3 the best although. Can I however suggest I would have framed it slightly differently by moving to the right a little so the stature was at the extreem left with no tree behind and the buildings in the imediate background were all in view. I love the lead into the distance and the old castle. Great perspective and DOF. I just feel cutting that lovely old building in half with the statue was unnecessary.
The second shot I feel is a little too tightly cropped on the left hand side and would have liked to seen it balanced with the right hand side's amount of stone.
The first shot has perhaps a little to much ocean in the foreground if the distant buildings is meant to be the focal point. Looks like a fabulous area to spend a few hours with my camera. Nice set, nice to see your part of the world.

Thanks for the replies guys .
We are lucky to have such diverse countryside here in the UK , and so much visible history to document .
The photo of the waves with the island in the background was so difficult to take , as the wind was so strong it was almost impossible to hold the camera steady enough .......... here are a few more shots .........
Ah huh! The island John Clease made famous wasn't it?
Love that shot through the fence. A nice second selection of shots. Good exposure considering the light
Is the Island the one of Grace Darling? I recognize Holy Island, the beach close to Bamburgh Castle, and the freeky monk statues on Holy Island...
Great region to shoot, I am just wondering about your exposure... They seem rather dark... I would play with levels a bit to brighten them up, they would become a lot more attractive to look at.
Great bird shots you have here! Great spot for puffins (in june, july)

Twas the Holy island , otherwise known as Lindisfarne - beautiful , rugged and very exposed to the elements .

You are correct ..........
Grace Darling is legendary in those parts , I also visited her grave .......
We took a trip on a small boat around the Farne Islands , and saw the spot where she rescued some folk ........... sadly , she died at a very young age , 4 years after the rescue ............. she was only 26 - T.B. got her ...

Yep... I only live an hour and a half down from Seahouses, in Ripon.
Here is one of my galleries of that area.
I easily become seasick, so doing the islands in that region is hell for me...
On the last trip to the Farne Islands, I hung more overboard then inside...

, near Burford [ 300 miles plus from Bamburgh ] , so a return trip will take a bit of planning , but I'll bear your offer in mind .
I get awful sea sick , and the trip on the boat [ small one ] was a bit fraught for me , - I found it very difficult to take photos as a result .
I don't have Photoshop etc , I just use Irfanview , and even then only to slightly sharpen images most of the time - I guess I should experiment a bit more , or cough up and buy something appropriate .
