Hello folks,

Did you moss me ? :arghh::biglaugh::biggrin: I've been M.I.A. around here of late. So sorry. Will try and make up for my lack of posting with this excessive pic filled post. :barb :ivar

Worked up some more of the osprey "mother load" from this year's breeding season. I think there is a theme to the first bunch of pics...eh? :scratch :dunno :D

Thanks for looking.

    Thanks for the post.
Great Series !! Beautiful Photos !!

Osprey are amazing to watch. We only get them here when they are passing through. One was hanging around for a couple days this spring so I got to watch it fish and dive.. it was really something to see. I was fortunate to get some good shots, one being the best photo I have ever taken.

I will be on the lookout in the fall and through the winter to post some Osprey photos from Arizona !!

    Thanks again..

Eeeeekkkk! Where to begin? Okay, the mossless BIF is quite nice, sharp and nice eye contact, but with ospreys that seems the norm. Their eyes just stand out. From the pics building the nest, I really like 8, 10, 12, and 15. I love the wingspread in 15! I love the lighting in 22 and 25 looks cool. And of course your photochop job is very good, seamless. It gave me a double-take. :D

Really nice shots, Mike. But where were you shooting from? Up in a tree? On a cliff? Nearby building? Number 21, in particular is a unique view--not many posts show the topside of an osprey. Were you in that hotel in St. Pete, FL, that's next to a nest?

Thanks John. I was shooting from a boat. A 20' center console fishing boat. Standing up of course. :D Shot #21 was exciting. A fellow shooter (Ron from NC) and I were sitting around waiting for the action when all of a sudden this osprey came out from behind some close trees...and in at water level. Flew right in front of us. I was fortunate enough to get a shot off before he got too close. eek7.gifwings.gif
