The giraffe shot is cute, but the B-fly macros are very nice indeed
Did you use any flash, or just ambient lighting? Whatever you did, these came out very good.
I've got to look into getting a Macro lens too. I just hope it doesn't result in me wanting a $400+ ringflash :uhoh

These are the first macros I shot in a long while. I used ambient lighting for these shots. They were a real pain to get. I went to the exhibit on a weekday hoping to avoid a crowd, so of course two local schools were having an outing. It was too crowded for a tripod so I had to use my monopod which meant I needed a higher shutter speed and I had to up the ISO to 400. I set the aperture to F/22 and managed to get in a few shoots where some little tyke wasn't bumping into me or running in front of the camera.

4am - wake up to pee
5am - wake up, roll over
6am - get up, think about sunrise
7am - hotcakes and sausages, courtesy of linda
8am - wetlands, shoot the birds in the flattering morning light
10am - stop at 7-11 for a quick cuppa
11am - shuffleboard
12noon - basketweaving
1pm - nap
2pm - arise, think about dinner
3pm - dinner (obligatory time for dinner in fla)
4pm - wetlands, shoot the birds in the flattering evening light
5pm - soak in hottub
6pm - watch local news, yell at television
7pm - wheel of fortune
9pm - deadwood on hbo
10pm - bed.

Thanks. As I recall it the Bronx Zoo had a great butterfly exhibit. If you go I wnat you to eat on Arthur Ave and take few pics of the great Italian food to be had there.:D

I Like the second shot the touch of yellow and the way the butterfly matches the flower it's on.
