Nice work on both images, Kerry. thumb.gif

I really like Feel the Burn, however the flame looks a bit fake to me. Also, the light and dark parts on her arms is a hair distracting. How about putting the flames coming off her arms....?

The composition is really nice and I get the feel of the photo which is hard to accomplish, IMHO.

I voted for the first, that is a very good idea thumb.gif

If you can re-shoot, I'd use a few drops of whatever flammable you have at hand to actually put the flames on the ice.
    Creativity's hard.

Thanks for the opinions! The fire on the second one is giving me fits. :giggle I have not yet given up.

I was using paint thinner, which apparently isn't enough to counteract the ice wanting to put the flame out. I tried several times before moving on to plan B, which was lighting a bowl of it underneath the ice. Harder than I thought it would be to make the ice ignite! mwink.gif

Now that you mention it, yes it would be. The paint thinner doesn't burn as a liquid - it's the vapour which of course doesn't form if it's cold...

So a possible solution is warm the st... are you feeling lucky? lol3.gif

rolleyes1.gif I nearly burned my porch the first time I tried this with the ice, despite thinking up precautions for a week. I have now been seen on my porch lighting fires and taking pictures by my neighbors twice this week. I think I'm already pushing my luck. deal.gif

That said, a plan C occured to me for the fire in the second picture. Slightly less dangerous.

    ...I think. :D

A light coating of napalm just might do the trick rolleyes1.gif

    A powder. A flammable powder.

Okay, tried out Plan C and added it to the first post. Better? Or does Rekindled still hold more weight? ne_nau.gif

All of these photos are great! I like your style! The third is really coming together. When you get to this point, it gets so difficult to post your final...at least for me it does.

    Good luck!!

Thanks, Steven! When I get to this point, I debate on when to open the bottle of wine, because then everything will look better. mwink.gif

I still think it's Rekindled without a doubt. The new flame in the third looks like an unlucky pancake to me for some reason.

Man I must sound completely off my trolley by now rolleyes1.gif

It's funny how wine tends to do that! If only we had the judges addresses - I've got several bottles of Gamay Rouge from V.Sattui Winery in Napa just sitting here waiting to be enjoyed.

I'm still in love with "Feel the Burn." Argh. Even though the votes and comments are overwhelmingly for my first idea, I can't seem to give up the ghost. rolleyes1.gif

I can see why, but the flames don't work at all and it really suffers for it, sorry!

I have to agree with pyry, your melting heart entry is the best of the three. I do like the 'feel the burn' concept, but it feels over processed.

Okay, I can take the hint that it's time to step away from the computer and uncork the wine (which sounds salacious knowing that it's 5am in Finland!). :giggle

    Thanks again, all. iloveyou.gif
