I am very much out of my comfort zone trying to come up with something to fit that Poe poem. This is what I've been able to come up with. C&C much appreciated. Thanks!

    #1 for sure.

My three year old son calls pictures like this "smooky."

Number one, I would have never guessed you were out of your comfort zone.

I really like that big old tree but the tree stump seems to get some attention to. What about a vertical crop? Just a thought and since I don't have a comfort zoneeek7.gif maybe you should take my 2cents with a grain of salt.

#1. And if that's OUTSIDE your comfort zone then..... well, let's just say it's certainly resulting in spectacular images! (Speaking as one for whom EVERYTHING photographic is still outside my comfort zone, I'm more than impressed bowdown.gifbow)

I like #1 the best, but they're all beautiful (tres impressionistic) as well as resonant for the text and effective images. thumb.gif

    Portrait orientation is better.

Is it possible to make the edges of your 'ghost' more wispy? to me the ghost seems to be a little too solid around the edges.

I like the newest one for sure. But agree with Achambers. I think you need to trim a bit more of the white off the edges of the ghost.

I think the white at the bottom of her dress makes it look like a petticoat which would seem right.

Just my 2 cents again. Or is that 4 cents now. headscratch.gif

Just thinking out loud here, but... using the new crop (which I love!thumb.gif) what if you put your ghost at the junction of the 3rds on the bottom rh side (where the patch of green is - sorry, I'm at work with no editing software so I can't even draw an X on it to show what I mean!) - it would be almost like she's separated from the graves, shut out, which to me would make it even more poignant (it's already doing that - I really love this image - but the poem itself is to me the anguish of an outsider looking on helplessly...).

Ok, just ramblings. Btw, what process did you use on the picture, becuase I just LOVE it - is it one of the art treatments? It's so beautiful! clap.gif

Linda, I liked the first before the crop, but now it is even better. I think this is the one to stick with. thumb.gif

    Holy cow!
Thank you all so much for your suggestions. iloveyou.gif

Laughing.gif...actually the whitish areas were my attempt at putting a diffuse glow around the ghostly lady. Before the crop they weren't as noticeable. ne_nau.gif Below are two of the latest attempts:

    Hi Linda!
What a great photo!!! I love it. I like the version where the personage (not knowing what to formally refer to her as...) is closest to the tree. I think it gives the eye a more balanced viewing pattern in respect to the rest of the composition. I do however, want to see more of her skirt. It feels just a hair to transparent.

    Congrats on a great photo.
