PC Video card
I read in a photo mag. about a video card they had recumended... I can't find that mag any more :( ... They said it was the best card for working on photos vs. like a gamming card. Can any one recumend a good video card? I have a old navida card right now. Also... those color correcters they sell... do they really work? I… -

Re: Drobo?
Cameron, I had looked at them and other solutions like them for quite some time now....I just can't make it a cost effective purchase.....I use a 3 deep hard drive system with SM as my final back up for my finished jpgs and with the cost of externals (seagate 1.5tb extreme freeagent 199.+change including tax) I just can't… -
Re: Yeah, let's play some DS
Oh, a comment on the black and white conversion. I am an Aperture user. At one point I downloaded a trial of the Silver Effects Pro plugin for Aperture. I LOVED it. But $199 is WAY more than I can justify for the plugin. I've tried other ways of doing B&W conversion and not been as pleased as I was with Silver Effects Pro… -
Re: Which printer?
Decision Made Canon i960. Couldn't pass up the quality/$. $199 at Best Buy. I bought a 120 pack of 4x6 paper and a 7 port USB hub with it, and they gave me a $30 gift card. Not a bad deal. Took about 15 mins to set it up, made a couple of prints (8x10 on Kodak 8.5 x 11 premium picture paper and a 4x6 borderless on Canon… -

Re: Two new photo book printing places...
Geeze man, I don't know. Did you really look at the prices for blurb? For 1-40 pages it is $29.95. For up to 440 pages (!) it's only $79.95. Plus they have bulk rate discounts of 10% for 25 to 199 and 15% for 200 to 400 (and presumably more over 400 but you have to get a quote). $80 at blurb will get you quite a coffee… -
Re: Insuring camera gear?
I know this is an old thread, but I want to mention that I got renters insurance with a business endorsement coverage through Geico (have 2 cars insured with them). It cost me $199/yr for $10,000 equipment coverage. Covers me out of the home too, and also has 100k personal liability coverage. Geico uses third party…
