Re: Canon 24-70 2.8L vs 24-105 4L IS
Had both and kept the 24-70, didn't think the IS made up for the f/2.8 and couldn't be happier with the 24-70. Found I use the 24-70 at times when the 24-105 just wouldn't cut it. Bought a 7-200 f/2.8 IS to cover the focal gap too so not bothered about losing the extra range. One consideration though is that the 24-70 is… -
Re: EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM or EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM
I'll go with Pathfinder here. The 24-105 is more suited to your uses. This from a very happy 24-70 user, too. The 24-70 is more aimed at low-light use while the 24-105 is more of a general walkaround lens--like what you intend to use it for. Heck, with the 24-105 you could sell off both the 28-80 and 75-300 and still… -
Re: Withdrawn: EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM Lens
I already did actually -- 5d/24-105 combo. So far I really like it. I might regret selling off all of my 2.8 L's but I just need to cut down on the traveling weight. This lens in particular ... I wasn't planning on letting it go because in comparison with 24-105 it does have the following advantages (besides the 2.8): 1)… -
How much for the Canon 24-70 2.8 IS ???
Good Evening Folks, If the 24-70 2.8 II sells for $2299, how much can this lens sell for ? http://www.canonrumors.com/ I've seen the Tamron 24-70 VC sell for $1100 (used), and from the images I've seen taken with it, it's on par with the Canon 24-70 II. Any thoughts ? Just curious. Thanks for looking :thumb Have a good… -

Re: Lens choices for child candids and small events
24-105 vs 24-70 I have both lenses and the 24-105 is my first choice of lenses between the two. The focus is sharper, I have more keepers with that lens and the IS gives you the equivilent of the extra stop that you get at 2.8 on the 24-70. The 50 is also a good lens for events but on full frame I'd add a 35 or 24 for a… -
Re: Best wedding glass
24-105 I have both the 24-105 4.0 and 24-70 2.8 There is a slight difference in the finished images with the two lenses. I love low depth of field work and there is a softer look on the 24-70 The 24-105 is always tack sharp. Always. I use it in my studio or for outdoors walking around - BUT I use it on my 5d - I bought the… -
