Re: what dpi to use???
Just to clear up a little confusion on the process... Firstly, the DPI you upload at is absolutely irrelevant. The only thing replacing an ordered image, say a 4x6, with a 302DPI version of that image, is saving EZ Prints one step. The outcome would be exactly the same. Unless the photos you're uploading are not your… -
Re: Retarded Smugmug "Site Actions"
I already wrote, and no one has responded. I do not want the "Catergory deleted" Nor the three below (it's the individuals ALL BELOW THAT) in the Sumter Equestrian Center (Shows) Galleries That need to be deleted. Most important is the option to do this our self which could be quickly integrated. Sumter Equestrian Center… -
Mini Challenge # 306: My home town
This mini will feature "My home town". We've recently had "vacation" and "revisit" so I thought it would be a good idea to stay a little closer to home and show us something of the surroundings where you live. It can be architecture, land/cityscape, a specific local festivity or anything else prominent in the area. Just… -
Mini Challenge # 301: Vacation
This mini will feature the theme of Vacation. I know I'll make my judging life difficult because you can imagine a large diversity to picture this subject. However since it's almost July which is vacation time for the northern hemisphere I also think it's timely to do it now. Hopefully I'll be able to pick a worthy winner… -
Dgrin Mini-Challenge #271 - Music and Concerts
Doesn’t everyone love music? Maybe concerts aren’t your thing, but I’ll bet you have photos of street performers, musical instruments, or something that reminds you of music. For me, August is the time of year when high school and college marching bands start practicing for the new season. I do photography for one of our… -
Mini-Challenge 243 - Animals Here and There
(Note: Joyce asked me to launch the next mini since BlueHoseJacket had to decline and we haven't heard from Jeromy since the baton passed to him. So here goes.) It has been a while since we have focused on mammals in one of our minis. (I think the last time was "Animal Pairs" in 2015?) So let's see some animals - in this… -
MINI-CHALLENGE #287: Finding Joy and Tranquility in Nature (CLOSED)
The next challenge will be one that celebrates natural treasures around the world, but with a particular emphasis: Human joy. Please share images which communicate the peace, tranquility, happiness, and wonder that occurs when humans visit beautiful, natural places, as recognized by government protection, UNESCO, etc. This… -
Dgrin Mini-Challenge #277 - Abandoned Architecture
I am guessing that this topic may be fruitful since many photogs love shooting buildings or structures that are in a state of disrepair. For purposes of the mini, any type of building is allowed; the structure doesn't have to be historical or very old, but must be abandoned and uninhabitable by humans or animals (in the… -
Mini-Challenge #253 - Wildflower Portraits
This is my first mini-challenge, so bear with me. Looking back at the previous couple of years, it doesn't look like there has been anything botanical for a while. Since wildflower photography a bit of a passion for me, I would love to see what others are doing with this subject. What I am looking for in a "Wildflower… -
Upscaling/Resampling Badness and Why DPI Doesn't Matter
Take a look at these glorious shots. Beautiful! Great color, detail, and composition. But there's more than meets the eye at play here... Here's a 100% crop of this photo: Pretty sharp, nice detail, very little grain... And from this photo Same here, good detail, could use setting the black point, a touch of post…
