Re: On-Site Printing for Events
What I did Hi all, For my very first event shooting of an Autocross, I set up one laptop with an external monitor. I ran LightRoom 2.0 and had Canon's portable Selphy CP770 Die Sub Printer connected. After I would fill up a card I would hand it off to my friend who was staying in our booth. I had a metadata preset for the… -

Here's another image with f/6.3 uncorrected for TC at 500mm (1,050mm EQ) (By the by, how does one calculate how much the TC changes the aperture?) <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6029383/emoji/headscratch.gif" border="0" alt="" > DOF calculator indicates the DOF is around 7' for subject at ~300' and f/6.3; ~10' for f/9. Re: First Senior Session of '11
Thank you all for taking the time to comment! I really do appreciate it. @Sean - My wife agrees with the watermark issue, she has been hounding me to change it up and go more subtle. I will look to create something less distracting. @Rey - I have never really done eyes and didn't really know where the line was from… -

Re: please critique my first wedding set
first wedding set. I hope the following is helpful...I looked at your website and it is very good. Okay, here goes. Picture composition and coverage is good. However, you have some glaring errors. First being that the white balance is off in some of the shots. White clothes look blue or gray (off white)...custom white… -
Re: Girl's high school lacrosse
You have a decent kit for lax assuming you're games are daytime, or under really good stadium lights. IMO the D300 is only good for about ISO 3200 (assuming you have good noise reduction software.) That being the case, if you're shooting under typical (crappy) HS lights, you are in for some disappointingly blurry images.… -
Re: RAW or JPG
Pathfinder, Thank you. I can remember Ruth said he was shooting RAW and JPG at the same time. This procedure is space consuming in the cards. But today, and because of this very thread I shot pictures in RAW and in JPG and here they are. I came to the conclusion that sometimes RAW is better and sometimes the other way… -
Re: Are the Smugmug servers overloaded?
1316/396 from Tampa Bay Road Runner. That's a bit thin, since I know my line is good for 4000-5000 to, say, Speakeasy Atlanta. Alas, I can't do a 'good' traceroute at the moment conveniently (WinMTR requires admin privs on 2000, and no linux boxen in the room -- and windows' traceroute is ... less than useful... but I…
