Re: Basketball Strobes - Mixing Flash types? Any concerns?
Just checked.. KEH has SB-28's for $94 in EX condition, $84 in BGN. The EX condition I got looked like the just came out of the original packaging! Also, the only thing I don't like.. which is minor, about the older flashes.. is they don't (at least canon) support 1/3 stop increments in manual. Not so critical for BB or… -
Re: Car Talk Thread
hah thats awesome your boat had a pirate flag :D Anyway i just saw your reply, yeah the 84 200sx is also a great car (its RWD!), I have an uncle who still has his coupe and it still runs great...well, except the fact he had to replace the transmission once in 20 years, which was a good $100 at the junkyard. Re: Andy's Un-Official Unsolicited Mac Advice Thread
Go into System Profiler, click Power, and look at the numbers there. If your Cycle Count is above 300 or your Full Charge Capacity is getting to be a small a fraction of the original, then the warning alert is not a scam...your battery would be getting old. The utility CoconutBattery tells me that my battery started out at… -
Re: D700 and Eye-Fi...? CF type 1 to SDHC.

Just because it all physically fits doesn't mean the electronics and radio… -
Re: SSL's for custom domains
Actually, I have checked only a few sites, but every one I have checked just replaces the http with an img tag. Nikonians is different now, as they have built an actual proxy/cache server, so at present my customer domain image link on smugmug is turned into a reference to their own image server, but that is an unusual… -
Re: Photography Survey - Please fill out & help me gather data :)
Thanks everyone! The "completed survey" count is now up to 84 at this moment! This is amazing for only having my survey posted for one day! I am truly looking forwarded to the final number of surveys by the time mid March rolls along (as I will be doing my in Japan surveys March 1st - 11th, so won't stop collecting… -
Re: Ammersee at night (PP advice???)
I had to think for a second or two about your "wide angle" comment and realized you probably oversaw the fact that I'm using a M43 camera so the lens is actually a 40mm, so only very slightly wider than normal. BTW, here's a shot from the next day (at high noon, directly towards the sun ugh), with another lens, zoomed to… -
Re: Photo Gig- Hummer H1
Magazine Response Hi Everyone, thank you for your comments. Here is what they said... "JIM I opened them up on a different pc with a lacie professional monitor and they look a lot brighter as I suspected they woould. So dont worry about doing the extra work on touch up. We'll take care of that. But heres the numbers anyway… -
Re: Kyrgyzstan
83) Tash Rabat is one of my favorite sites in Kyrgyzstan and also visited infrequently by tourists. The building used to be a combination inn, prison and market and is said to be haunted by locals. 84) Tash Rabat valley. One of my favorite spots in the country and a place you must see if you come. More from Tash Rabat:…
