Digital SLR Cameras - How does yours rate?
I've been going through the cameralabs.com website and am impressed by their video reviews and range of cameras reviewed. http://www.cameralabs.com/reviews/digital_camera_and_lens_reviews.shtml How does yours rate and does the rating match your experience? (the Nikon D700 rates at 95% if you drop the value assesment - I'll… -
Re: Any resolution to the SmugMug statistics problems?
Jim, I've certainly seen a lot of weirdness with SM stats too. On Oct 8 and 9 an image I just put in my "Recent Work" gallery called "Badlands NP, South Dakota" got 84 views. There were single views of a few others during those days. It's not an amazing image by any means, I like it, good memories, whatever. There is… -
Re: D600 Announcement
It may not be a Nikon issue.... but as a photographer who wants/needs a good spread of AF points..... it's an ISSUE for ME. Focusing on a models eyes at the edge of the frame is not going to be easy. Will have to see auto AF works and see were it choose I guess or go manual focus in a fast pace environment. lol That or it… -
Re: Direct link for photo no longer through my own domain
Lille was asking about the change that will happen when we switch CDN's, which is that instead of photos being SRC'd from your custom domain, they'll be sourced from photos.smugmug.com: Example: Today: img src="http://www.aaronmphotography.com/Nature/Landscapes/i-DSXrR7R/0/Th/_DSC2277-Th.jpg" Soon: img… -
Re: What should I do?
Ahhhh, the perfect responce I have been looking for Thanks so much Ziggy. I'm currently looking online to find the best deal I can on those two lenses. Reviews on that 35-70 are awesome!!! It sucks that I won't be able to buy a new once since they have been discontinued, but I've found a few so far. The 28-70 obviously is… -
Re: USA Summer Road Trip - Advice please!!
In the Portland area, a few things you could consider... From Portland, head up US 26 to Mount Hood. Stop at Timberline Lodge, see where the shining was filmed (at least the outside parts). You could stop at Ski Bowl too, they have a big ass cement slide that's open during the summer, which is pretty fun. After Timberline… -
Re: The Power Of Four
I don't know where you got your information, but I thought the fact that it is liquid cooled was widely known. In any case on page 84 of the Power Mac G5 User's Guide: -- cut here -- Liquid Cooling System Some Power Mac G5 models use a liquid cooling system to manage the temperature in the computer. The liquid cooling… -
Re: post your best panoramic shots
This one is enormous, and needs to be viewed at original to be believed: Original link: http://i.pbase.com/o6/84/449284/1/75417902.mDfM63Si.panocopy.jpg See if you can find my wife, or the fishermen :) Here's an up and down: But, when all was said and done, it was basically as if I'd taken the shot with about a 12 mm wide… -
Re: High School Basketball Questions...
I'm a newbie at basketball, but I had decent luck with my 5DII on ISO 3200, and a 24-70 on f/2.8. In one gym (shots 18 to 76) the light was very bad and basically any shot without bounce flash was useless. In another gym (shots 84 to 108) the light was better and I could get away without flash. I shot in manual and I moved… -
Re: guitar people?
Sound off from a Bass player Geez, I've got too many thumbs to play 6 or 12 strings like you all. I only play four. My axes are from the mid '80's when I was "gearing up" while in a band. I play an '84 Riverhead headless bass and an '85 Fender Jazz Bass Special. I have an old Epiphone bass that I parted out. I play a…
