Routing issue/trouble connecting to smugmug
At the office today I was unable to connect to dgrin, my smugmug site or www.smugmug.com. I tried a couple of times over a few hours and didn't get anywhere. A few minutes ago, I noticed I was having no trouble at all. I tried it again through a VPN to my office--couldn't reach smugmug or dgrin. Here's a traceroute from my… -

Re: Owner view/ visitor view problem
That's the same thing people were saying to me when win95 came out about win3.1. And then they would ask me how to get their plug and play to work. Newer isn't always better, and older isn't necessarily worse. It's all in the setup. My 94 Accord won't take you in a straight line, but I'll eat you alive in the corners. I… -
Blue Highways to the Enchanted Highway 56k warning
A few threads down on this forum was a poster asking about travelling on Blue Highways. Blue highways are the smaller, less heavily travelled state and federal highways that are used mostly for local traffic, rather than the major interstate highways that always look very much alike at each exit, whether in California, or… -
Re: Let's play...Help the Mod. - Quebec?
Angelo, I travel to Quebec about 6 times per year on business. It's a great place- You should definitely take the drive up to Quebec City. The Chateau Frontenac there is a massive 17th century beauty- the natural setting of quebec city is unparalleled. Montreal is OK as far as nature goes, but it doesn't hold a candle to… -
Re: A Trip Too Small: Fiji, New Zealand, and Some More
The next day we woke up still exhausted. We gradually gained some momentum and packed up camp and made it back out the three and a half miles to the road, and then we headed down to the main Yosemite Valley to find some cheap camping and hit some famous climbs. Tracy and I elected to take a rest day to try to recover, and… -

Kodak
OK Wxwax, in order to avoid hijacking the other thread, I am going to put my ideas about Kodak down here. Kodak is my favorite photography related company. I love it, but I love it in the way that one might love one's child if they were slightly mentally handicapped, and had a tendency to veer off course by robbing liqour… -
No Images - Opinion
Interesting point of view Here's a list of tips, advice, rules and just things to know about photography from Eric Kim, a street photographer who also holds photography workshop classes. Here's the full list: 1. Just because someone has an expensive camera doesn't mean that they're a good photographer. 2. Always shoot in… -

I've been going through the cameralabs.com website and am impressed by their video reviews and range of cameras reviewed. http://www.cameralabs.com/reviews/digital_camera_and_lens_reviews.shtml How does yours rate and does the rating match your experience? (the Nikon D700 rates at 95% if you drop the value assesment - I'll…
