Re: back to top code
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I have no HTML knowledge other than what I scrounge up around here. I wanted to create a button on my wedding services page that takes a user right to the package/pricing section. Trying what you said I first made an HTML block and used similar code to what Allen used to ID… -
Re: Widget code to modify background of a photo content block
Assuming your goal is wanting this on every case of a photo block anywhere. So we need to find the CSS needed to apply to all photo blocks. Starting from scratch I'd suggest removing it all and reapplying one step at a time. 1st add photo block background of contrasting color to prepare for checking caption background.… -
API method requests
I have alot of ideas, but for now, I'm requesting two simple API methods. :lynnma 1) Random images smugmug.images.getRandom Arguments: SessionID - Required Number of images - Optional, default of say ~5 Results: Array of ImageIDs Purpose: Get random images from smugmug. Reason this should be in API: To get truely random… -
Re: Can any other brand beat Canon L
While we're on the subject of record-setting wide angle lenses: * 16-xx is the widest standard ZOOM angle on the market, besides the Nikon 14-24 and the Sigma 12-24. (Yes, the Sigma is a full-frame lens) * The Nikon 14-24 BLOWS AWAY any other lens at 14mm, even primes. Canon, Nikon, it completely schools them all. Dunno… -
Re: Ridiculous Pricing?
Couldn't agree more! I would say that the numerous times I have raised the topic in various discussions there is a virtual reluctance and resistance to learning about business with many photographers and they will come up with all manner of excuse to justify continuing their ignorance. The bottom line is, the real… -
Re: Pricing Advice
Denise is 100% right. Your pricing needs to reflect your business plan. It would be easy to say price an 8x10 for XX amount of dollars, but that doesn't help anyone. What one photographer gets for an image doesn't mean it will be the same for others. If you look around you can find images from under a dollar to millions of… -
Re: need some advice
Depends on a few things I guess, not the least of what you make out of the opportunity. What doors would you like to open? Track access, mention on the organisation website, rights to set up a stand at the track free of charge??? First you have to know what you would like. 2ndly, talk to the guy. You can sound him out and… -
Disable all prints that would require cropping
Somebody stop me! I'm going GreaseMonkey crazy! Here's a script that adds a No Crop button to the Pro Pricing page. Click the button to set all print sizes that would require cropping to zero, preventing customers from buying them. I made this work based off of the size of the image being priced, so it should work for any… -
Re: 300D-EOS5 and D70 quandry
cheers for the input guys, I can understand where ya'll are coming from re: the lense being the deciding factor (the more I learn about this photography game the more it seems the camera is largely secondary to choice of glass and knowledge of how to take a picture :D). Given I have no previous bias one way or the other I… -
Re: HP ZR30W - which gamut to pick?
I see two issues right away. First, in Windows Color Management where it says "Device Profile" this should point to your monitors' ICC profile. There should be a default one that will look something like "HP ZR30w". You want to use the HP profile as it has data unique to the idiosyncrasies of your monitor where the "sRGB…
